Veterans Parade held Sunday downtown – Walterboro Live

Donnie’s Mobile Detailing and Pressure Washing won first place in the 2022 Veterans Parade held Sunday in downtown Walterboro. Second place went to Bells Elementary and third to the Hendersonville Elementary Robotics Team.

Janet D. Smith, Colleton County Veterans Affairs Officer, said “It is important to extend our appreciation to the men and women who served in our Armed Forces. The Veterans Day parade is an annual event which is held to celebrate, honor and thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. A parade is a small gesture of gratitude for our veterans who gave so much of themselves for us.”

Johnny Holmes, chairman of the Veterans Council, and Bob Tiegs expressed thanks to all of the participants, judges, businesses in the community who supported the parade including: the Bank of the Lowcountry, Ace Hardware, Signs Plus, Colleton County High School NJROTC, Veterans Victory House, Magnolias of Walterboro Assisted Living, Walterboro Elks Lodge #1988, VFW Post #12102, Colleton County Honor Guard, Tuskegee Airmen Hiram E.
